Degenerative Disc Disease
Jupiter and West Palm Beach Offices serving all of Florida
Degenerative disc disease (DDD) is osteoarthritis of the spine, usually in the neck or low back. DDD is rather inconsistent in its character and severity and describes the process of the disc degenerating over time. It is a condition that is a natural part of aging and one of the most common causes of neck and low back pain.
Certain individuals with DDD may never experience symptoms, while others may become symptomatic subject to indications that may include severe chronic pain with radiation. As the degenerative process increases symptoms may worsen and cause tingling, numbness and weakness affecting daily activities and function.
